Overview
The “Ria de Aveiro” Lagoon is one of the most important wetlands in Portugal where we can find, in average, more than 70 species of birds per day.
From the Atlantic coast, through the dunes, salt marsh and reed bed areas up to the first woods you will discover different habitats with a rich and varied birdlife that deserves attention of those who visit the area.
The Lagoon is a National Ecological Reserve and has the status of IBA (Important Bird Area), providing the best conditions for the practice of Birdwatching.
We organize Tours of 1/2 Day (Morning) and 1 Day with or not with boat trip, departing from Aveiro on foot or by car on trails according to tides.

Little Bittern, Cattle Egret, Purple Heron, White Stork, Greater Flamingo, Black Kite, Black-shouldered Kite, Eurasian Marsh Harrier, Black-winged Stilt, Kentish Plover, Little Tern, Common Swift, Pallid Swift, Iberian Yellow Wagtail, Common Nightingale, Dartford Warbler, Sardinian Warbler, Firecrest.
Exotic naturalised: Yellow-crowned Bishop, Waxbill.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
We only accept payments by bank transfer for the company: Natur Travel Lda.
We will send you a Tour Confirmation Package upon the receipt of your deposit and completed reservation form (by email). Please note that we cannot continue to hold your reservation if we do not receive your final payment on time. Non-payment of your trip balance by the due date will be considered a cancellation: Your deposit will be forfeited, and your space will be offered to the next person on our waiting list.
- Literature about the places you will visit and about the country you are travelling to;
- Recommended clothing and equipment;
- Suggestions for preparing yourself for the trip;
- Complete registration form;
Please note that payment in full is due 15 days before tour departure. If you do not pay your final balance on time, we will consider your reservation cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited.
For written cancellations we apply the following rules:
- 15 or more days before start date, you receive a total refund.
- 7 days before start date, you will receive a 50% refund of the total price;
- Fewer than 7 days before start date, there is no refund, but 25% of your payment may be applied to another tour departing within one year of the date your cancellation was received;
- You may transfer from one tour to another up to 60 days before trip departure. After this time, standard cancellation policies apply.
- There is no refund if you arrive late for a tour, or if you leave early, nor is there any refund for meals (if included) or services not used during the tour.
We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance, since we are unable to make any exceptions to our cancellation policy even for personal emergencies. A Travel Insurance is extremely important. It covers the cost of your trip and other travel expenses in case you cancel for any number of reasons.
All luggage and personal belongings are at all the times at your risk. We will not be responsible for any loss, damage or accident to any luggage or property. We suggest to verify your credit card insurance conditions and assistance, which may cover these risks and/or contract a specific insurance.
Our Professional activities are covered by 62.500€ liability insurance.
Natur Travel Lda is a touristic services company, based in Aveiro – Portugal, legally entitled by the Portuguese Government body DGT with the license RNAAT number 501/2016.
We are also not liable for: expenses (e.g., meals, transportation or hotel costs) not specified as included in the trip cost but which may be required to get to or from a trip start or end. We reserve the right to make route modifications as necessary to improve the trip’s quality or well-being of guests.
